About Bishopstown Campus

Take the first step!

Bishopstown Campus

The Cork College of FET Bishopstown Campus is a purpose-built structure which was completed in 1982. With a building footprint of some 12,000 square meters the building is situated on a site covering circa 6 hectares, the building hosts 100 Cork ETB staff and 450 trainees/apprentices daily. The training provision is comprised of 35 classrooms and 25 workshops, while administration services are accommodated in 10 offices spread throughout the building and environs.

Programme types include Apprenticeship, Specific Skills Training (SST), Traineeship (provided by our own staff and designated contracted training providers), all of these are currently on offer in our Bishopstown Campus. Qualifications provided range from QQI levels 3 to 6 on the framework, additionally we provide a range of both industry and other specific certifying body accreditations.

The training courses we offer are recognised by leading awarding institutions, and some are also QQI certified. Where required, we supplement in-house training with community training and contracted training. The majority of courses are free, and funding is available in certain circumstances.

Our overall goal is to help employers, employees, and individuals in Cork fulfill specific business and career goals.

The Cork College of FET Bishopstown Campus has two satellite locations, one in Carrigaline which houses our Life Sciences Centre and the other on Model Farm Road, Cork which is the location of our Westside Hospitality Centre. Where required, we supplement in-house training with contracted and community training.

Cork College of FET Bishopstown Campus operates under the remit of Cork Education and Training Board (CETB), funded by SOLAS to provide further education and training to meet the local economy’s needs.

Cork College of FET Bishopstown Campus is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund.
