CERTIFICATION:
- QQI Level 6 Component Certificate in Heat Pump Systems (6N5646).
INTRODUCTION:
The Domestic Heat Pump Installation course will give you the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, install and commission domestic heat pump systems in a safe and competent manner and in accordance with appropriate legislation, regulations and standards.
Successful completion of the course will enable you to register as an installer with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
COURSE CONTENT:
- Sustainable Energy and Environmental Impact:
Understand the role of heat pump technology in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Advise customers on the ecological and economic benefits of domestic heat pump technologies. - Safety and Compliance Safe Installation Practices:
Understand and apply national regulations concerning heat pump sources. - Installation Planning.
- Technical Knowledge and Application:
Thermodynamic Principles Performance Metrics Scientific and Mathematical Application. - System Design and Comfort:
Thermal Comfort Systems. System Commissioning: - Project Management.
COURSE DELIVERY:
This course is delivered on site in Cork College of FET, Bishopstown Campus.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must hold either:
- QQI Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate – Electrical.
- OR QQI Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate – Plumbing.
- OR QQI Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- Applicants apply online on www.fetchcourses.ie
- CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English.
- Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.
