INTRODUCTION:
Industry-Relevant Skills: The course curriculum is designed to equip participants with practical skills in ceramics.
Portfolio Development: Participants will create a portfolio of their work, which can be showcased to potential employers or clients, enhancing their employability.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Leaving Certificate (LC Established, LCVP or LCA) or equivalent.

For mature applicants appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

All applicants are interviewed. A portfolio is not required but applicants will be asked to show five examples of their own creative work.
DURATION:
This is a one-year full-time course.
PORTFOLIO PREPARATION:
Many students use this Art course as a portfolio preparation course. There is one-to-one guidance for those applying to Art & Design Colleges including the MTU/Crawford College, TUS/Limerick school of art and design, NCAD and Colleges in the UK and Europe with very high success rates. There is also guidance with digital portfolio preparation.

WORK PLACEMENT / EXPERIENCE:
Participants will be required to undertake 60 hours of work placement in a relevant location. The College will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.

There is a strong focus on portfolio preparation with one-to-one guidance for those applying to Art & Design Colleges including the MTU/Crawford College of art and design, TUS/Limerick School of Art and Design, National College of Art & Design, WIT, GMIT and IADT.

- TUS: Ceramics in Expanding Practice.
- ATU: Finer Art.
