INTRODUCTION:

The Film, TV and Animation sector in Ireland is estimated to be worth over €692 million, comprising 11,960 jobs by way of direct, indirect and induced employment across the economy. Costume design plays a vital role in the storytelling abilities of these film, TV, theatre and advertising industries.

The course will allow students to research, design costumes with historical accuracy and use traditional hand crafts to create artistic garments for stage and screen. These skills would allow students to work in film, theatre and TV areas in specialised areas of prop making, costume making, costume curation and care, styling (commercial and editorial).
