INTRODUCTION:
Our ICDL Basic Computer Essentials course will give you the skills to navigate computers and IT with confidence.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Computer basics:
Types of computer, health and safety, logging on. - Introduction to the desktop:
Learn how to use a desktop computer. - Introduction to documents:
Introduction to use of documents and MS Word. - Introduction to the web:
Learn to surf the web safely. - Communications:
Learn how to use email.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.

There are no course fees for the course.
What hours are involved?
This is a short full time course, which usually runs for three weeks. The course times are 8.30am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 12.45pm on Friday.
What funding is available?
If you are in receipt of social welfare payment, you may be entitled to a training allowance for the programme duration.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through a mixture of practical demonstration and written examination.
Is there work experience?
No, there is no work experience on this short programme.
