Onsite at Bishopstown Campus.

• City & Guilds Assured Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics.

INTRODUCTION:

The Stage 1 Bicycle Technician course is designed for individuals passionate about bicycles and eager to develop the skills necessary to maintain and repair them. This comprehensive program combines online learning with hands-on practical training, providing a solid foundation in bicycle mechanics.

COURSE CONTENT:

• Introduction to Bicycle Mechanics:
  Understanding the basic components and functions of a bicycle.
• Tools and Equipment:
  Proper use and maintenance of essential tools.
• Wheel Building and Truing:
  Techniques for building and maintaining wheels.
• Brake Systems:
  Installation, adjustment, and maintenance of various brake systems.
• Gear Systems:
  Understanding and maintaining derailleurs and internal gear hubs.
• Bearing Systems:
  Servicing and maintaining bottom brackets, headsets, and hubs.
• Safety Checks and Pre-Delivery Inspections:
  Ensuring bicycles are safe and ready for use.

COURSE DELIVERY:

This is a blended programme. The first three weeks are self- directed learning, followed by a one-week full time in person practical training.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to courses for those whose first language is not English.

Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.
