COURSE CONTENT:
- 6” Carbon Steel Pipe Welding:
E6010 Root/E6013 Fill & Cap (Sch 80/6G Position) – CS01, Tig Root/E7018 Fill & Cap (Sch 80/6G Position) – CS02, Tig Root/E6013 Fill & Cap (Sch 80/6G Position) – CS04, E7018 Root, Fill & Cap (Sch 80/6G Position) – CS06, MAG Root FCAW Fill & Cap (Sch 80/6G Position) – CS09. - 3” Carbon Steel Pipe Welding:
Tig Complete (Sch 40/6G Position) – CS03, E6010 Root/E6013 Fill & Cap (Sch 40/6G Position) – CS05. - 10” Carbon Steel Pipe Welding:
Vertical Down Root, Fill and Cap – CS07, Vertical Down Root and Vertical Up Fill and Cap – CS08. - Specialized Welding Techniques:
MIG 10mm Vertical Open Butt Weld – CS10, Oxy-Acetylene Pipe Weld – CS11, MMA Vertical Butt Weld 10mm Plate – CS1.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English.
Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.

How much does the course cost?
There are no course fees for the course.
What hours are involved?
This is a full time course, which usually runs for 40 weeks. The course times are 8.30am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 12.45pm on Friday.
What funding is available?
If you are in receipt of social welfare payment, you may be entitled to a training allowance for the programme duration.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through a mixture of practical demonstration and written assessment.
Is there work experience?
No, there is no work experience on this short programme.
Career opportunities?
Successful graduates of the programme will be certified across all welding codes.
