CERTIFICATION:

  • QQI Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support.

INTRODUCTION:

The QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support is available as a bespoke upskilling course for healthcare companies. We can support the upskilling needs of your staff and provide the QQI Level 5 accredited Healthcare Support course.

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Care of the Older Person (5N2706):
    Explore the ageing process and the effects of ageing on the person. Learn practical tasks to care for an older person.
  • Care Skills (5N2770):
    Practical learning in washing, feeding, mobilisation, toileting and grooming. End of life care is included.
  • Infection Prevention and Control (5N3734):
    Prevention of the spread of infection in the healthcare setting – hand hygiene, standards precautions and terminal cleaning.
  • Care Support (5N0758):
    Understand the role of the healthcare worker within the context of the wider care team.

COURSE DELIVERY:

This course is only available to healthcare providers and will be scheduled in response to industry demand. Companies can request for individual modules to be run.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants apply online on www.fetchcourses.ie 

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English.

Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence ot Stamp Four status to undertake this course.

FUNDING:

This course is ony available as a bespoke course for healthcare companies, and is fully funded under Skills to Advance.

How much does the course cost?
There are no course fees for a company who sends staff to attend a bespoke Healthcare course. Course Fees are covered under the Skills to Advance initiative.

What hours are involved?
The hours of the course will be set by the company in consultation with Cork College of FET, Bishopstown Campus.

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through a mixture of practical demonstration and written assessment.

Is there work experience?
No, there is no work experience on this short programme.
