INTRODUCTION:

Enhance your career with our QQI Level 5 Certificate in Bookkeeping (Manual and Computerised). This course is designed to provide you with the essential skills and knowledge to manage bookkeeping functions effectively within any organisation.

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Bookkeeping Fundamentals:
    Prepare sales, purchase, bank lodgements, bank payments, petty cash books, and VAT forms. Learn to create and register a company, set up VAT rates, bank accounts, ledgers, customer and supplier accounts, and product details.
  • Document Entry:
    Enter documents such as sales, purchase, bank lodgements, bank payments, petty cash, and invoices. Each learner will prepare books and accounts both manually and using Sage Accounts software.
  • Terminology and Systems:
    Explain key terminology associated with bookkeeping records and outline the advantages and disadvantages of computerised versus manual systems.
  • Books of First Entry:
    Complete the books of first entry with appropriate VAT and departmental analysis from various source documents.
  • Ledger Posting and Trial Balance:
    Post information from daybooks to ledgers and extract a trial balance at the end of an accounting period.
  • Bank Reconciliation and VAT Returns:
    Prepare a Bank Reconciliation Statement and end-of-period VAT Return as per Revenue Commissioners’ requirements.
  • Payroll Processing:
    Explain key payroll terminology, process payroll using manual and computerised systems, and handle various tax systems and deductions.
  • Tax Forms and Legislation:
    Prepare mid-year and year-end tax forms, assess tax liability, and analyze the impact of legislative changes on personal tax and take-home pay.

COURSE DELIVERY:

This course is delivered remotely using live online classes. The end of course examination takes place on site in Bishopstown Campus.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants apply online on www.fetchcourses.ie 

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English.

Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence ot Stamp Four status to undertake this course.
