INTRODUCTION:

If you are looking to further your career and move into a supervisory role , then this programme is for you! This programme is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in a supervisory role across various industries.

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Supervisory Duties:
    Understand the comprehensive duties and responsibilities of a supervisory manager, including adherence to relevant policies and services.
  • Industry Standards:
    Evaluate current industry standards, guidelines, and recommended practices, covering supervision methods, staff conduct, and the pros and cons of in-house versus contract staff.
  • Information Safeguarding:
    Learn the essential precautions for safeguarding information and records.
  • Staff Recruitment:
    Master the key steps in recruiting staff, from pre-planning and sourcing to screening and shortlisting candidates.
  • Risk Analysis:
    Analyze the risks that require adequate insurance coverage.
  • Procedure Drafting:
    Draft effective procedures for work-related activities, including communication lines, service standards, and recruitment criteria.
  • Record Maintenance:
    Devise systems for maintaining work-related records, including operational records, staff rosters, and maintenance schedules.
  • Budget Preparation:
    Prepare a detailed departmental budget, covering planned and contingency spending.
  • Staff Training:
    Train staff using up-to-date industry standards, appropriate aids, and support materials, while assessing individual suitability.

COURSE DELIVERY:

This course is offered in a blended format, the first night takes place on site in Cork College of FET, Bishopstown Campus, the rest of the classes are delivered remotely using live online classes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants apply online on www.fetchcourses.ie 

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English.

Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.
